Rogues have 3 different specializations to choose from and one of these is Combo Points, which allow them to prepare to deal higher amounts of damage with Basic Skills.
Aspect of the Expectant has a similar effect to this and can be used along with the Combo Points Specialization to provide you with a higher amount of damage.
If you are using a Rogue Combo Points Build, Aspect of the Expectant will be a vital addition if you want to slay enemies quickly.
Aspect of the Expectant Effects (Core Skill Aspect)
Aspect of the Expectant allows you to boost your damage similar to how the Combo Points Specialization works, allowing you to build up more damage.
When you have this aspect equipped, your Basic Skill increases the damage of your Core Skills by a certain percentage and this stacks.
This allows you to deal a lot of damage similar to how Combo Points work and once you build up damage, you can unleash it by using a Core Skill.
Aspect of the Expectant Location
Aspect of the Expectant is a reward for completing Underroot, which is a dungeon found to the north of Tur Dulra. (Scosglen)
Before gaining access to this area, you will first need to clear the Tur Dulra Stronghold before the area becomes a town with access to the dungeon.
How To Get Aspect of the Expectant? (Underroot Walkthrough)
1) Slay all enemies in the Labyrinth of Rot
Once you enter the Underroot, you will be in the Labyrinth of Rot and will have to clear the area of all the enemies. (Marked by red dots on your map)
2) Travel to the Chambers of Offering
You will need to fight through enemies and clear a room before you can continue, which will eventually lead you to a room with 2 Levers.
3) Activate the Levers
Once you are in the room, you will need to clear the enemies to prevent them from interrupting you and interacting with both of the levers.
4) Travel to the Chambers of Offering
After both levers have been activated, you will need to continue making yours to the next area, where a Pedestal is missing a Statue.
5) Return the Ancients Statue to the Pedestal
The Pedestal will be at the far part of the room and it is most likely that the room that has the Ancients Statue will be just nearby.
6) Travel to the Infested Reservoir
You will need to head to the next area, which is the Infested Reservoir and this area will have Egg Clusters in different places.
7) Destroy the Egg Cluster
The Egg Clusters will be marked on your maps once you are close to them and you will need to destroy all 3 of them.
As you go about destroying the Egg Clusters, there won’t be much retaliation, allowing you to quickly get through the area.
Verdict
Aspect of the Expectant is great when combined with Combo Points Builds as they both increase damage when you attack with Basic Skills.
Since the additional damage is based on the number of times you damage enemies, it would be ideal to use fast weapons and skills that can quickly be cast.
This is one of the aspects that can be used by any class since all characters need a Basic Attack that follows up with a Core Skill later on.
