The Helltide Threat Level is a new addition to Diablo 4 that was introduced with the Season of Loot Reborn, providing you with a new activity.
This activity is triggered when you are active in killing demons within the Helltide areas, which causes forces of demons to hunt you down.
These forces include a Hellborne Champion at the end, which you may defeat to get loot that they drop.
How To Increase Threat Level?
Your Threat Level becomes active once you enter a Helltide area, which eventually increases as you kill enemies while the event lasts.
There will be a meter under the Aberrant Cinders and Baneful Heart counters on the top right part of your screen. (Next to your map)
The more enemies you kill, the higher the meter will go and once it reaches the max amount, the icon will glow, and the meter will begin to decrease as enemies spawn next to you.
Hellborne Bosses
As your Threat Level meter drops, you may end up surviving the encounter which eventually spawns a Hellborne Boss enemy to attack you.
The type of Hellborne Boss that spawns will be based on your class and if you can survive until the end of the Threat Level meter’s timer, they will spawn.
Defeating the Hellborne Boss will provide you with various loot that is randomly generated, and these become more valuable as your level increases and what World Tier you are in.
Hellborne Bosses Drops
Hellborne bosses that you fight at the end of the Threat Level will have a good chance of dropping useful loot, which may include the following:
- Equipment (Different Rarities)
- Aberrant Cinder
- Wolf’s Honor
- Baneful Heart
Verdict
While the Threat Level may activate now and then, it is ideal to farm these when you can as you go about killing enemies during the Helltide.
Sometimes they can appear out of nowhere if you don’t pay attention to your Threat Level which can be dangerous if you are doing other activities.
Farming the Hellborne bosses that appear during the Helltide does not always provide you with Baneful Hearts but the chances are good.
