Azmodan is one of the World Boss encounters available in Diablo 4, offering valuable rewards to players who participate in his limited-time appearances.
Like other World Bosses, Azmodan is designed to be fought by multiple players working together within a shared open-world arena.
Defeating him rewards participation and preparation, making the encounter worthwhile whenever he appears.
How To Find Azmodan?
Azmodan appears as a World Boss through Diablo 4’s standard World Boss rotation, appearing periodically for groups of players to challenge.
World Bosses spawn at scheduled times and can show up in different predefined outdoor locations across Sanctuary.
When Azmodan is about to spawn, his location appears on the world map shortly beforehand, giving players time to travel and prepare.
Fighting Azmodan
Azmodan has several area-of-effect attacks that can deal heavy damage, but these can be avoided by moving around or using dodge abilities strategically.
He uses the same attacks consistently, so the more you fight him, the easier it becomes to read his patterns and anticipate incoming damage.
Fighting Azmodan alongside other players often happens, and coordinating with them allows you to take advantage of group damage and defeat him more efficiently.
Azmodan Drops
Azmodan drops rewards like other World Boss encounters, including high-quality gear, crafting materials, and items that scale with player progression and World Tier level.
In Season 11, additional rewards can be earned when holding one or more Corrupted Tongues of Azmodan, obtained from his Lesser Evil (Invasion) version.
Fighting him regularly provides opportunities to upgrade gear, collect valuable seasonal items, and progress through endgame World Boss objectives efficiently.
Rewards from Azmodan may include the following:
- Crafting Materials
- Legendary and Higher-Tier Equipment
- Nightmare Sigils
- Murmuring Obols
- Seasonal Items (Corrupted Tongue of Azmodan in Season 11)
- Runes
Azmodan in Season 11
Azmodan is one of the Lesser Evils, and in Hawezar, you may summon him after previously defeating the other Lesser Evils in the area.
He can also appear as a World Boss in Sanctuary, separate from his Lesser Evil encounter, following the standard World Boss rotation.
If you have one or more Corrupted Tongues of Azmodan, which drop from his Lesser Evil (Invasion) version in Hawezar, you can claim additional rewards.
Facing the World Boss version while holding these items allows players to gain extra seasonal loot without affecting the normal fight or drops from the Lesser Evil encounter.
How To Summon Azmodan? (Lesser Evil – Season 11)
Summoning Azmodan can be done during Season 11, which allows you to fight him as part of the Lesser Evil Invasion activity that is active throughout the season.
In order to do this, head to the area marked with Azmodan’s Invasion in the Fields of Desecration and interact with one of the Altars.
Depending on which Altar you interact with, enemies related to either Andariel, Duriel or Belial will appear during the activity before Azmodan arrives.
Verdict
Azmodan is a solid World Boss encounter that rewards preparation, awareness, and participation from multiple players.
The fight emphasizes learning his attacks, positioning carefully, and coordinating with others rather than relying on complex mechanics.
Defeating him is generally worthwhile whenever he spawns, offering valuable gear, crafting materials, and seasonal rewards during Season 11.
