Destiny 2: The Territory War Begins Quest Walkthrough

After the whole ordeal involving the Imperium, you first pick up a letter from Aunor that mentions future Praxic training, but underneath that letter is another one.

Another letter addressed to you from Aunor, which mentioned the Syndicates on Tharsis, and it looks like you may need to play a certain role in everything about to happen.

Eido seems to need your help with something, and this may be useful later when you start making a name for yourself as you too become a Renegade.

How To Get The Territory War Begins Quest?

The Territory War Begins is obtainable after you have completed the Renegades Quest, which initially involves you accepting the Praxic’s Path Exotic Quest.

After accepting Praxic’s Path, the Renegades Quest will be complete, and you will be able to also claim The Territory War Begins afterward.

The Territory War Begins Quest Steps

Step 1: Gather the remaining components from around Tharsis

Aunor and Eido plan on declassifying the Prophecy that the Vanguard kept hidden from everyone, as they believe the people of the Last City and Tharsis Outpost deserve to know about it.

They plan on restoring a local broadcaster to spread the message, but require some missing components, which you will help them find around Tharsis.

You will need to search Tharsis to find the two missing components that are needed to restore the local broadcaster.

Step 2: Transmit the Prophecy from the repaired broadcaster in the Tharsis Bazaar

With the broadcaster repaired, it is time to share the Prophecy with the world by broadcasting it, which requires you to transmit it.

Step 3: Listen to the recording

After the broadcast was transmitted, it turns out that a recording was left behind for you from Drifter, and now you will need to find and listen to it.

Step 4: Meet with Blue at Tharsis Outpost’s Ghost Commune

Blue is currently at the Ghost commune and would like to speak to you as well as Ghost in person, which requires you to be there.

Step 5: Speak to Spider in the Cantina

After speaking with Blue, you will need to head to Spider in his lounge, located within the Cantina, and speak to him about the current events on Tharsis as well as your role to play in them.

Step 6: Enter the Lawless Frontier and take on the Imperium presence on Europa

A Lawless Frontier Activity (Europa Job) is available, and you will need to complete this to proceed with the quest.

Step 7: Speak with Lodi through your Ghost in the Tharsis Cantina

A ping from your Ghost indicates that Lodi would like to speak with you, and you must now head to the Cantina to establish a link with him.

Step 8: Visit the Syndicate quartermasters to hear their pitches and see what they have to offer

As you progress with this quest, you will need to eventually choose a Syndicate to side with, but for now, visit each one of them to see what benefits they can provide you with.

Step 9: Ally yourself to one of the Syndicates at their banner

After previously speaking to each of the Syndicate quartermasters, it’s time to choose one to side with by interacting with their banner.

Step 10: Speak with your Syndicate leader

A Lawless Frontier Activity (Europa Job) is available, and you will need to complete this to proceed with the quest.

Step 11: Work your way up your Syndicate’s ranks by completing a Priority Contract for your Syndicate

With a Syndicate now chosen, it is time for you to gain reputation with them, which requires you complete certain objectives with this Quest Step.

You will need to do the following:

  • Complete Priority Contract
  • Wager 1 Deathmark (Invasion)
  • Complete an Invasion (Successful or Not)

Step 12: Return to your Syndicate’s den in the Cantina and deposit Dark Matter Ingots in their War Chest

Return to your Syndicate’s den located in the Cantina and look for the War Chest inside the main area of the hideout.

Interact with the War Chest to deposit the Dark Matter Ingots you earned from Lawless Frontier activities and complete this quest step.

Step 13: Speak with your Syndicate leader to debrief on your activities on the Lawless Frontier

After doing activities in the Lawless Frontier and building your reputation with your chosen Syndicate, head over to the leader and speak with them.

Step 14: Continue completing Syndicate Contracts and doing Jobs on the Lawless Frontier

You will need to continue doing activities in the Lawless Frontier and earn Dark Matter Ingots to deposit into your chosen Syndicate’s War Chest.

The following needs to be completed:

  • Complete 2 Jobs
  • Complete 2 Syndicate Contracts
  • Deposit 10 Dark Matter Ingots
  • Reset Priority Contract

Step 15: Complete jobs for your Syndicate or switch to a new one

After you Syndicate’s Priority Contract has been reset, you may choose to ally with a new Syndicate or continue to complete jobs for your current one.

Step 16: Strengthen your ties and unlock greater rewards by reaching Rank 3 with any of the Syndicate

You will need to reach Rank 3 with any one of the Syndicates, which may be the first one you have chosen or a new one that you have switched to.

Step 17: Purchase Rank 3 Syndicate Renegade Ability

Now that you have reached Rank 3 with your Syndicate, head over to their quartermaster and purchase a new Renegade ability.

Verdict

The Territory War Begins serves as a narrative-driven introduction that eases players into the Renegades update while setting the stage for larger conflicts ahead.

Through its quest steps, the mission introduces the Syndicate system, teaching players how alliances, reputation, contracts, and abilities shape progression in the Lawless Frontier.

As an opening experience, it effectively prepares Guardians for long-term Renegades content while making Syndicate choice feel meaningful rather than rushed or purely mechanical.
