Along with the release of The Edge Of Fate, a new Exotic Scout Rifle called Third Iteration was added to the game, and this firearm is a decent one to add to your collection.
Firing Void Energy projectiles, this Scout Rifle has two ways for you to target your enemies, which is spread a bit when fired from the hip or a tighter formation when aiming down the sights.
Third Iteration is capable of marking enemies after a short duration after aiming down the sights, which provides you with Invisibility and Truesight, perfect for assassinating your targets.
How To Get Third Iteration?
Third Iteration is rewarded from the Season: Reclamation Rewards Pass, which requires you to first reach Rank 70 before you can claim it.
For those who have purchased The Edge of Fate, this can be obtained as early as Rank 1 and is considered quite the privilege for those who own the expansion.
Other copies of Third Iteration can be acquired from your Collections Menu, which can be accessed by opening your inventory and choosing the tab.
Obtaining another copy of this Exotic Scout Rifle will cost the following:
- 3,000 Glimmer
- 2 Enhancement Core
Third Iteration Weapon Perks
1) Smallbore (Barrel)
Third Iteration has a dual strength barrel.
- Greatly increases handling speed
- Slightly increases stability
2) Modified Heatsink (Battery)
Third Iteration’s battery slowly recharges over time when the weapon is stowed or not being fired. Pressing “Reload” allows you to vent the core to quickly recharge the battery.
3) Amalgamation Rounds (Trait)
Aiming down the sights of Third Iteration for a short duration will compress its crosshair, which also causes the spread of its projectiles to tighten for more accuracy.
Combatants damaged with this shot will mark them, causing them to take additional damage from Third Iteration, and if defeated, you are granted Invisibility and Truesight.
4) Composite Stock (Stock)
Third Iteration is equipped with a versatile dual-purpose stock.

- Slightly increases handling speed
Third Iteration Intrinsic Traits
Tri-Planar Mass River
This Exotic Scout Rifle fires a spread of Void Energy projectiles, which can be compressed by aiming down the sights.
When aiming down the sights, you will notice the crosshair tightening and a quick flash that means the next shot will mark your target.
Projectiles that are compressed in this way have a better chance of hitting your targets, especially if you are aiming to score a headshot.
Third Iteration Catalyst
There will be a Catalyst for Third Iteration, and currently, it says that it can be obtained from the Season 27: Reclamation Rewards Pass, but nothing has been revealed yet.

Verdict
Third Iteration is quite the Exotic Scout Rifle, especially with its ability to mark enemies and compress its projectiles for better accuracy.
Fighting enemies up close or at a distance won’t be an issue as this weapon has decent range and accuracy, making it useful against different combatants.
Hopefully, even more chaos can be made once its Catalyst arrives, but for now, this weapon seems like a nice addition to any Guardian’s weapon collection.
