With the Ash & Iron update now live in Destiny 2, a lot of new challenges have started to appear, and one of them is finding Golden Age Salvage.
Similar to how players would seek out Data Pads during the previous season, finding Golden Age Salvage is also tied to Seasonal Challenges.
We have put this guide together for you so that you can easily find all of the Golden Age Salvage to complete the series of Seasonal Challenges tied to Fireteam Missives Discovered.
Fireteam Missives Discovered – 1 (Golden Age Salvage) Locations
There are 3 Golden Age Salvages found during the first week of Ash & Iron, and completing all of these will allow you to claim the Fireteam Missives Discovered – 1 challenge.
1) Expedition Nessus
At the start of Expedition: Nessus, make your way straight towards the waypoint, and you will come across a large tree.
Head closer to the tree, and if you check underneath it, you will notice that the Golden Age Cache can be found on the ground.
2) Expedition Cosmodrome
Once the Expedition Cosmodrome begins, make your way to the facility where there is a waypoint, but stay to the right.
Head around the structure, and you should easily be able to spot the Golden Age Cache from a distance since its glow makes it visible.
3) Expedition Europa
At the start of Expedition Europa, make your way to the waypoint as you normally would after the first batch of enemies.
Before reaching the second group of enemies, there will be a large icy rock, and the Golden Age Salvage can be seen at its base.
Fireteam Missives Discovered – 2 (Golden Age Salvage) Locations
Week 2 of Ash & Iron will have you delving into the Tomb of Elder via the Content of Elders activity, which can be accessed through the Portal. (Fireteam Ops)
The different rooms may not appear in the same order for everyone, but the Data Pads in each of them will always be in the same location.
Keep in mind that these can be obtained before the matches start, giving you a safe and quick way to find them before each fight.
1) Tomb of Elders – Path A Golden Age Salvage
In the room where you fight the Scorn Scrap-Walker or The Machinist, start from the console and make your way to the right.
If you look up to the path on the right, you will be able to spot the Data Pad from afar and may grab it by simply jumping up to the damaged platform.
2) Tomb of Elders – Path B Golden Age Salvage
If you find yourself in the room with platforms and lava, head to the very end of the path on the left to find the Data Pad.
Once you reach the end of the left side, you will be able to spot the Data Pad in a corner that you can safely reach by jumping.
3) Tomb of Elders – Path C Golden Age Salvage
Another room in the Tomb of Elders will have you facing the Hive, and this area looks similar to the tileset of Savathun’s Throneworld.
The Data Pad can be found by taking the path on the left, and once you reach the bridge, look over to your left, and you will be able to spot it.
Verdict
Obtaining the Fireteam Missives Discovered Golden Age Salvage is quite easy since they can be found early during each mission.
It is a good idea to keep an eye out for the Golden Age Salvage, as they can sometimes be overlooked if you are in a fight or rushing through a mission.
Once a Golden Age Salvage piece has been found, it will also be obtained for your other characters and does not need to be collected again.
