Skutlass (Location, Drops, Uses, Partner Skill & Work Suitability): Palworld

Most Water Pals focus on supporting your base or fighting from a distance, but Skutlass takes a completely different approach by turning itself into your weapon.

This unusual Water Pal resembles a sheathed swordfish, revealing a blade-like skeletal body whenever its signature Partner Skill is activated.

Whether you’re looking for an aggressive melee option or a capable worker for your settlement, Skutlass offers a unique playstyle that few other Pals can match.

Skutlass Location

The earliest time you can get your hands on Skutlass would be once you have ventured to the Anubis Dunes, which has a Great Eagle Statue (Waypopint) roughly around -130, -179.

Skutlass can often be found near the shour of the northern and eastern part of the Anubis Dunes and they can be quite aggressive.

Skutlass Spawn locations include:

  • -245, -66
  • -217, -41
  • -172, -39
  • -140, -54
  • -103, -83
  • -91, -103

Partner Skill

Fish Fillet

Skutlass’s Partner Skill, Fish Fillet, transforms it into the player’s katana, allowing you to unleash fast melee attacks with excellent damage and reach.

The transformation only lasts for a limited time, so you’ll need to keep an eye on its duration while fighting.

If the ability isn’t canceled before the timer expires, Skutlass will become incapacitated and must recover before it can be used again.

Since Fish Fillet counts as a melee weapon, it also benefits from effects that increase melee weapon damage, making it even stronger alongside the right companions.

Skutlass Uses

Skutlass truly shines in combat, giving you the option to draw it as a katana whenever enemies get close and ranged attacks are no longer the best choice.

Its quick attack animations, long reach, and high damage make it surprisingly effective against aggressive Pals, allowing you to pressure enemies before they have a chance to fight back.

Its swift melee attacks are also excellent for clearing tight spaces such as dungeons, caves, and enemy bases, where ranged weapons can sometimes feel awkward to use.

When timed correctly, Fish Fillet can turn difficult encounters in your favor, making Skutlass feel more like an extension of your character than a companion fighting beside you.

Work Suitability

  • Watering – Lv. 4
  • Gathering – Lv. 1
  • Lumbering – Lv. 4

Possible Drops

Skutlass Drops

  • Skutlass Sashimi

Verdict

Skutlass stands out from other Water Pals by giving you a completely different way to approach combat through its unique Partner Skill.

It’s a great companion to bring along whenever you expect close quarters fights, letting you slice through enemies with fast, hard hitting attacks when things get up close and personal.

Combined with its respectable Work Suitability and solid combat performance, Skutlass is a memorable Pal that’s just as enjoyable to use as it is effective.
