Destiny 2: Who Needs Floors Anyways (Floor is Lava Challenge, How to Complete & Rewards)

Destiny 2 sure knows how to give Guardians other things to do aside from focusing on campaigns, activities, and grinding with their hidden challenges.

One of these involves the “Floor is Lava” challenge, which can be done at The Tower, giving you the thrill of reaching a certain area in the Courtyard while avoiding certain death.

Not only is this a fun thing to do, but you can now get a few Legendary Marks if you manage to perform outstandingly with this challenge.

How To Start Floor is Lava Challenge?

To start the Floor is Lava challenge, make your way to the opposite side of the Courtyard that is on the far end from the Monument of Triumph.

At the top, you will find strange devices that will display “Don’t Pick Me Up” when you move close to them, which you will need to interact with.

Once this has been done, the Floor is Lava challenge will begin, and there will be a certain area you need to get to to complete the challenge.

The marked location that you need to reach will not always be the same, and sometimes you need to find a different path, making some challenges easier than others.

How To Complete Who Needs Floors Anyways Triumph?

To complete the Who Needs Floors Anyways Triumph, you need to be able to make it to the marked location without touching parts of the area that are out of bounds and rather unfair.

You will also have to avoid taking floor damage, making it necessary to find the best path and make a perfect jump to the spot without taking damage.

In our run, we were able to make it all the way to the marked area but slid off upon landing, and this still counted as a completed challenge, making it a lucky run.

If you have trouble doing this perfectly, we suggest completing one run of the Floor is Lava to get the Quickness buff, providing you with more speed and jump height before trying again.

Who Needs Floors Anyways Triumph Rewards

Completing this Triumph will allow you to claim its reward from the Tenets at the Monument of Triumph, which provides you with 10 Legendary Marks.

Verdict

The Floor is Lava challenge has been around for years, and it is nice to see it finally tied to a Triumph for Guardians who never had a reason to try it before.

It can be a little unforgiving at times, especially if you barely clip the wrong surface or misjudge a jump by the smallest amount.

Fortunately, a bit of patience and a few practice runs go a long way, and before long, you’ll be hopping across the Courtyard like the floor really is lava.
