After learning about the weapon that is capable of banishing Mephisto to the Void, you passed the information to Lorath upon your return from The Mind’s Eye.
The two of you are now bound for the Temple of Life and need to make your way to Lycander, but things are not normal, and Mephisto may be up to no good.
Lorath is waiting for you there, and once you meet up, the two of you can proceed with heading to the temple to begin your search.
How To Get A Devil in The Garden Quest?
A Devil in The Garden becomes active once you have completed the quest called Mother’s Guidance, which has you talking to Lorath.
After the completion of What Was Given, Mother’s Guidance becomes your active quest and simply requires you to talk to Lorath, allowing you to get A Devil in The Garden.
A Devil in The Garden Walkthrough
Once the quest begins, proceed with heading to the waypoint, and this will bring you to Lorath, who is near the Noxious Wilds.
Upon arriving, Lorath will examine the area and notice that something has corrupted the forest, which is related to Mephisto’s doings.
The two of you must press on and fight your way through the monsters in the area until you reach the next waypoint, where you will need to slay the brambles that rise.
Speak to Lorath once you have cleared the brambles, and the two of you may continue making your way to the Temple of Life.
Once you reach the entrance, the area will be blocked off, and you will need to destroy the two Twisted Undergrowths nearby.
After destroying them, a Beast of Thorns will appear, and you will need to slay this too, which will result in the quest being completed.
A Devil in The Garden Quest Rewards
After you have defeated the Beast of Thorns, A Devil in the Garden will be complete, and your next quest will be Hands Stained Red.
In addition to the next quest being unlocked, you also receive:

The journey to the Temple of Life quickly turns hostile as Mephisto’s influence twists the surrounding forest, corrupting both the land and the creatures within.
