Start by fast traveling to Skywatch in the Cosmodrome and jump down from the landing area before reaching the large pillar ahead of you.
Turn around after landing and enter the cave behind you, which is the same Loot Cave that became famous in the original Destiny.
Approach the pile of remains near the back of the cave and interact with it to Disturb the Remains, which will cause several enemies to spawn, including an Avaricious Wizard.

How To Defeat Remnants of The Past?
The Remnants of the Past consist of several rank-and-file enemies along with an Avaricious Wizard that is noticeably tougher than the rest.
Once they spawn, clear the smaller enemies quickly using your weapons and abilities since they are grouped tightly inside the cave.
Focus your fire on the Avaricious Wizard afterward, and if you take damage, briefly reposition to the side of the cave before re-engaging.
