Warframe: Nidus Retouch (Changes & Updates)

Nidus gets a retouch in the Jade Shadows: Constellations update, mainly to smooth out how Mutation Stack building works in faster missions today without feeling clunky or forced anymore.

The goal here is to make him less about constant spam casting and more about just playing normally while stacks still build at a steady pace in the background.

He still keeps his scaling identity intact, but now he actually keeps up with the pace of modern missions instead of falling behind.

Stat and Passive Changes

Nidus and Nidus Prime get more base health along with stronger natural healing, giving him more breathing room when fights get messy or overwhelming.

His Mutation Stack cap goes from 100 to 200, which simply gives him more room to scale properly during longer missions without hitting limits too early.

The stack counter also responds faster now, so it actually keeps up when stacks build quickly instead of lagging behind or updating late.

Ability 1 – Virulence

Virulence now hits on impact and keeps dealing damage to anything it touches, instead of just being a single burst and done ability.

Both the direct hit and the lingering damage now contribute to Mutation Stack gain, so you are not forced into spamming it constantly anymore.

It also moves across terrain a bit cleaner now, so it feels less awkward when sweeping through groups of enemies in motion.

Ability 2 – Larva

Larva is more consistent for stack building now, with its chance of scaling off Ability Strength until it reaches guaranteed stack generation.

You can also recast it to replace the previous one, which makes repositioning enemies feel a lot less annoying during active fights.

The augment also scales better depending on how many enemies are pulled in, making grouped targets more valuable overall.

Ability 3 – Parasitic Link

Parasitic Link is easier to use now since the targeting feels less strict and it sticks properly without needing perfect aim.

It no longer costs Mutation Stacks and now just uses Energy, which makes it much easier to throw out whenever you need it.

It also has a short grace period before breaking, and it works on more targets like Specters and companions.

Ability 4 – Ravenous

Ravenous finally feels more up to date, with a larger radius and stronger healing that actually holds up during heavy fights.

It also cleanses status effects while active, which makes it more reliable when things get chaotic and messy.

Maggots move better, behave more consistently, and actually contribute instead of feeling like background filler.

Verdict

Nidus feels a lot smoother overall after this update, mostly because Mutation Stacks build naturally instead of needing constant attention.

His abilities now flow better together, letting you stay in fights without constantly babysitting every single cast.

The infestation finally feels like it is working in your favor properly now, and Nidus ends up feeling way more dangerous and alive once he gets rolling in real fights.
