While the base game has multiple traits for you to choose from, there are certain mods there that can further enhance the game and provide you with more via Trait Mods.

Best Sims 4 Trait Mods
1) More Traits by Maplebell
This mod adds additional traits to your game so that you can create more personalities for your Sims depending on how you would like them to act.
These include 21 additional Traits for you to choose from, which are all Maxis Match, making them blend into the game without issues.
These Traits may be added through create-a-sim just like any other Traits and will even provide moodlets depending on what happens when they have been chosen.
2) Baby and Toddler Trait Bundle by Snowiii95
If you feel like The Sims 4 needs more when it comes to the little ones, you are in luck because Snowiii95 has created new traits for these age groups.
This bundle includes 7 new traits, which include Always Happy, Bookworm, Boss, Creative, Fast Learner, Naive, and Stranger Danger.
All of the Traits, which will show how your little ones learn new skills and progress as they grow up depending on what you choose.
3) Absent Emotion Traits Pack by Vicky Sims
If you want to alter how Sims obtain moodlets and control their emotions more, thus making it easier to control how they act.
Included in this pack are 18 custom traits, which are known to prevent them from getting certain moodlets depending on the emotions they have.
This also adds a Rewards Store that lets you purchase traits at the cost of satisfaction points, making it possible to obtain more traits.
4) University Trait Pack by PimpMySims4
This pack of traits by PimpMySims4 was created to add more to their other content and was meant to stand out even without the University Aspiration Pack.
In addition, certain traits such as these give a more realistic feel to how life would be at a university and make the game more fun.

5) New Emotional Traits by Kuttoe Sims
Adding more personality traits to your game, the New Emotional Traits pack adds more diversity to your Sims with these enhanced traits.
These include 10 new traits with some being based on base ones and others being more unique to create different emotions.
All the traits included in this mod are compatible with the base game, with more traits having more features when additional packs are added.

With The Sims 4 being a heavily emotion-driven game, the addition of Sentimental Lot Traits by Vicky Sims can make things a lot easier.
